Neal Mitchel

Pro Fly Fishing Guide

Born and raised in the Mississippi Delta, Neal grew up as a child being engrained in the stewardship and ethics of being an outdoorsman, which he still lives by today. By the age of 12 he discovered fly fishing, in which he has spent many hours on the water since honing his skills in the craft. His free time as a youth was spent wading the creeks dodging cottonmouths fly fishing for bass and sun perch. After catching the trout BUG, the tailwaters of Arkansas eventually became his common weekend getaway. Later, he decided it would be easier to move to the trout. He chose WNC, where he's lived for 10 years now and dedicated his time to carefully learning the local waters and aquatic habitat. Driven by his passion for the art and sport of fly fishing and the plentiful personal growth this craft brings, he strives to create an angling experience by instructing on proper fishing technique, while educating about the fishery, and leaving a lasting impression.
